Mel Wells is a health coach, an eating psychology coach, speaker, and author of The Goddess Revolution. She dedicates her time to helping thousands of women worldwide ditch the dieting for good, make peace with food, and love their healthy bodies all in the right ways. Mel coaches women one-on-one and also through her online academy and her luxury goddess retreats around the world. Mel empowers women to stop dieting for good by adopting a healthy, loving relationship with food and a brand new lifestyle that reflects this.

More About This Episode:

Before writing her book and beginning the revolution, Mel was an actress on a soap opera. Her lifestyle led her into constant dieting, and she always had the mindset of wanting to take up less space. This eventually developed into an eating disorder and it completely consumed her life. Mel shares how it started to really impact her relationships and her work, and when it came down to it, she was essentially fighting a losing battle.

Getting into coaching happened quite gradually for Mel. Her biggest wakeup call was losing her dad very suddenly to cancer in 2012, which absolutely shook her world. Seeing someone so close to her fighting for his health really put things into perspective for Mel. From then on she decided to channel her obsession with food into a healthy way, and trained as a health and nutrition coach.

When Mel first started out as a coach, she noticed that her clients were successfully losing weight, but that their mindsets were not in a healthy state. They too were becoming obsessed with the “rules” of clean eating, constantly putting themselves on detrimental guilt trips and feeling shame. Realizing this, Mel delved deeper into the psychology of eating to truly understand what it means to approach eating from a healthy, and whole perspective.

Also on the show, Mel and I dive into how developing an intuitive relationship with your body and recognizing how to nourish it, opens up a whole new world and leads you on a journey of self-discovery. Mel opens up about her mindset on motherhood and pregnancy, and her own personal journey through that time in her life. Today, Mel continues to show women how to understand their unique journey and how to make conscious choices every day.
