How to Make Raw Almond Butter

For larger quantities and for amazingly smooth nut butters, chocolate and coconut butter, you can beat a stone grinder (melanger). But for quick and easy smooth nut butter at home, a really good food processor will do it.

  • 2 cups almonds
  1. Soak the almonds for around 8 to 12 hours, then rinse and dehydrate for a further 12 to 18 hours at 105 degrees F.
  2. Grind in a food processor for 10 minutes, or until a smooth butter is formed. You may need to rest the food processor halfway through, so it doesn’t overheat. A really good food processor will be able to handle the full 10 minutes.
  3. Will keep in the fridge for several weeks.
