raw food pink nori roll recipe

Pink Sauce

  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 raw beetroot, peeled
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender.

Assembly

  • Nori sheets
  • Selection of sprouts. including alfalfa
  1. Place a nori sheet shiny side down on a chopping board.
  2. Load up with a selection of your favourite sprouts.
  3. Spoon a generous amount of the pink sauce over the ingredients.
  4. Place more sprouts on top of pink sauce.
  5. Roll up the whole thing and cut into 2. Serve immediately with a small bowl of the pink sauce and some greens and sprouts to decorate the plate.

This is a great way to make a lot of alfalfa sprouts taste good!

Note: the idea is not to roll a tight sushi-type nori roll. It can be rolled fairly loosely and enjoyed as a wrap rather than in small bites.

I enjoyed eaten this…I have a question regarding seaweed. With the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster leaking into the Ocean – are there other location to source Nori flat sheets from … other from Asia? I have a hard time finding anything on the internet. Thanks, Michael.

Thank You RusselI! love that you gave us a very neat pink sauce. I’ll try it. I Can’t be leaving my nori sheets aside, leaving them so I have to throw them out. I won’t do that anymore. Now that you weregracious enough, to give us a lushious looking pink sauce. Sounds Delicious and very Healthy!

Love all of your recipe ideas…so fresh!!! Just want to make sure, whenever you call for nuts in a recipe, should I assume they are soaked?

Not all of them, no. You should always soak nuts with skins on, such as almonds, but nuts without skins don’t necessarily need soaking unless you want to make them easier to blend.

Wonderful recipe suggestions, Russell. I frequently make my own substitutions as like many others nowadays there are some food components I’m sensitive to such as casein, gluten, and lemons & oranges, plus I prefer to use the more alkalizing foods and seasonings.

Can’t wait for more of your great ideas and beautiful photos. Thank you.

This was gorgeous!ย  I just shared this with my Man (who is not yet convinced in raw food as he watching my transition first), however, we both loved it!ย  Just happened I had a beet in the fridge that needed to be used and rest was a “kitchen staple”.ย  The sauce is a lovely color against the nori rolls and the greens go perfect with the flavor.ย  I added a tsp of garlic puree and avocado fresh salad greens from my garden to the sprouts…I give a ***** rating!ย  THANK YOU chef ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a question: I am interested to buy the series e-book, however, when the raw nut cheese came out I bought it and I rather not have two of the same. What option can I have if I purchase the series? thanks
